The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a disappointing 4-3 overtime loss to the LA Kings, and forward Adam Henrique is being heavily criticized for his lacklustre effort.

Today's game presented so many intriguing headlines, including Warren Foegele's and Viktor Arvidsson's first game against their former team, as well as as the Oilers facing the Kings for the first time since ousting them in the first round of the 2024 postseason.

Ad disappointing as the outcome was for Oilers enthusiasts, Adam Henrique has landed himself under the microscope for his poor showing today.

David Staples rates Henriques performance

He was on the ice for every L.A. goal against, at fault on three of them. Failed to clear out the puck on the second L.A goal. Great stretch pass to send in Kapanen late in the second. He got caught in the Red Light Zone on the third L.A. goal, not watching anyone and not blocking the shot or any passing lane. He got beat in the slot on Kempe's wicked power play shot in the third. But he went to the net and pounded a hard shot on net late in the third. He got deked out by Byfield on the OT goal, his feet stuck in cement too often in this game.

-David Staples

In the end, the Grade A shots were 16 for the Oilers, 16 for the Kings, with the subset of most dangerous 5-alarm shots seven for Edmonton, five for Los Angeles.

So far this season, Adam Henrique has only recorded 10 points through 35 regular season games.

Luckily, Adam Henrique and the rest of the Oilers troops have a golden opportunity to bounce-back when they play that Anaheim Ducks for a back-to-back tomorrow afternoon.
