Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid scored one of the most ridiculous goals of the year, opening the scoring against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Well folks, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is back doing Connor McDavid things, scoring the games first goal in ridiculous fashion.
With just a few minutes left in the 1st period, head coach Kris Knoblauch made the wise decision to load up his first line with Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl, and Connor McDavid, and that gamble paid off.
The Edmonton Oilers successfully killed a Tampa Bay power play, and that clearly generated some positive momentum for the team leading up to the goal.

As McDavid does, he rocketed up the neutral zone like a missile, effortlessly splitting both Tampa Bay lightning defenders, and calmly firing it past Andrei Vasilveskiy.
The Oilers will look to build off this solid first period as they look for their 5th win in 6 regular season games.
