According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, After a stretch of poor games in their most recent road trip, including 8 penalty minutes against Anaheim, Stecher will be taken out for Josh Brown in tonight's game. Corey Perry will also draw back in for Derek Ryan
It's no secret that the Edmonton Oilers will be looking to make a strategic trade leading up to the NHL deadline.
Stan Bowman is rumoured to be aggressively shopping for a top-four defenceman, preferably one with a right shot.
However, when ever Bowman decides to make that trade, it's looking like Troy Stecher is the odd man out.
While many fans appreciate Troy Stecher's tenacity and work ethic, he won't cut it for the playoffs.
It should be interesting to see how Josh Brown performs for the Oilers tonight.
After coming in to training camp with high expectations, Josh Brown has failed to gain any traction at the pro level. Hopefully, he comes into today's matchup ready and makes his presence felt.
The Edmonton Oilers are also waiting for newly acquired Alex Regula to hit the ice. Regula has been out for the entire season due to knee surgery rehabilitation, but could be a wildcard to crack the roster come playoff time.
What lies ahead for Troy Stecher? Time will tell.
