According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, it seems that Regula may have suffered a setback with his recovery, now that the season is creeping into the new year and he still hasn't played a game yet.

According to TSN Regula has yet to suit up in a game this season. He spent the 2023-24 season with the AHL's Providence Bruins, scoring four goals with 26 points in 55 games.

Although claiming a player who's previously struggled with injuries presents some risks, Alex Regula certainly possesses a unique skillset that might be worth the wait.
A +36 rating through 55 regular season games is a rare statistic, but only time will tell if general manager Stan Bowman struck gold this acquisition once he returns from rehab.
