Edmonton Oilers release encouraging news on Zach Hyman
Breaking news in Oil Country as Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman could potentially make his return tonight against Utah HC.
The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for their first matchup of a 3 day road-trip against Utah HC, and Zach Hyman could be available to play tonight as per head coach Kris Knoblauch.
Hyman sustained an injury in the second period against the Ottawa Senators after taking a body check, and was immediately ruled out for the short term.
Zach Hyman was initially stated to miss the first two games against Utah HC and the Colorado Avalanche, with an estimated recovery time of 6-8 days.
Now, new encouraging reports from Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch suggest that Zach Hyman could be available to play tonight.
«He's been going through the steps,» Knoblauch said after practice. «He's feeling much better, and there's a chance he's playing this road trip sometime.»
Zach Hyman has been off to a slow start to the 2024-25 campaign. In 20 regular season games, Hyman has only notched 3 goals and 5 assists.
Recently, Zach Hyman was taken off the projected
Team Canada Roster ahead of the 4-Nations Face-Off happening in February, so I fully expect Zach Hyman to come out firing off all cylinders during this road-trip.
The Edmonton Oilers currently post a 11-9-2 record, sitting at 17th overall in the NHL.
Tonight is a great opportunity for the Oil to get a much needed win in order to remain competitive in a tight Pacific Division.
Edmonton faces off against the Utah Hockey Club on Friday, the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, and finishes the trip Tuesday in Vegas against the Golden Knights.
