Ex-Edmonton forward records Gordie Howe hat-trick

Former Edmonton Oilers forward Klim Kostin is literally fighting to keep his NHL career alive, and last night may have marked his turning point.
Last night, the San Jose Sharks laid an absolute beat down on Seattle Kraken, emerging victorious by a score of 8-5.
Klim Kostin was also an instrumental part of the San Jose Sharks victory, recording his second career Gordie Howe hat-trick.
After the game, Klim Kostin made himself available for his usual post game interviews, and delivered a legendary response to a reporter's ridiculosu question.
Over his full 169 game career with 4 different teams, Kostin was only ever really good with the Edmonton Oilers. He greatly surpassed his career highs to score 11 goals and 21 points in 57 games.
Hockey fans have seen Kostin be a high-end power forward in the NHL, a fierce physical presence that's also able to get to the net front and finish some greasy goals. He clearly has the talent and ability to be a big player for the Sharks, but he's just not mentally engaged.

Klim Kostin has faced some adversity this season, recently being healthy scratched for 3 straight weeks -- but he's responded with a vengeance.
There have been rumblings of a potential reunion with the Edmonton Oilers, but Klim Kostin would need to string together a few more performances like that before Stan Bowman gives that serious consideration.
As it stands, Klim Kostin will look to stay a solidified member of the San Jose Sharks roster.
However, it's really nice to see a former beloved member of the Edmonton Oilers finding success in the face of adversity.
