A few games back against the San Jose Sharks, Draisaitl scored yet another overtime game winner, assisted by Connor McDavid.
Why is this significant, you ask? Both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl now have 40 total overtime points each, puting them within striking distance of breaking the all-time record for most overtime points in NHL history.
As it stands, Sidney Crosby sits a 46 overtime points, with Evgeni Malkin residing slightly below him with 43 points.
The Edmonton Oilers have been dynamite in extra time this year, so I think it's pretty safe to say that either Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl will be breaking yet another NHL record this season.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Leon Draisaitl in particular is having a special season this year, being the Oilers top goal scorer and driving a dominant second line on his own - while still pairing with McDavid to decide games.
Regardless, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid continue to prove to the hockey world their the most dominant 1-2 punch in the game.
