Leon Draisaitl gives legendary response to missing 2 open nets
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off an epic 3-2 overtime win against the San Jose Sharks, avoiding a momentum killing loss.
While the Edmonton Oilers played a dominant 60 minutes of hockey, San Jose Sharks goaltender
Yaroslav Askarov was a thorn in the side of the Oilers all game long.
Up until the last 17 seconds of regulation, it appeared that the Edmonton Oilers would suffer another disappointing loss to a bottom feeder team.
Historically, the Edmonton Oilers show up against formidable opponents, but tend to play relatively passively against weaker opponents.
With that being said, superstar
Leon Draisaitl had two golden opportunities to tie the game, but missed both opportunities.
Luckily,
Mattias Ekholm was able to tie things up in the dying seconds and Draisaitl scored the winner in OT. Daily Hive asked Leon after the game what was going through his head after missing those two previous chances and he gave a short, but very fitting, answer.
«Uhhh shit,» Draisaitl replied with a laugh. «It's not a great feeling, every player has those once in a while.
«It's always one of those where you come back to the bench and you're like «If I just settled it down for a second I'd have more time» The game is so fast sometimes the brain doesn't operate at that speed.»
According to Daily Hive, The Oilers superstar made sure to apologize for language which got a laugh out of the kids helping out.
«Excuse my language by the way,» Draisaitl said to more laughs.
Luckily, Draisaitl made up for it by notching the eventual game winner, helping the Oilers boost their record to an impressive 20-11-2
