The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a thrilling showdown against the San Jose Sharks this afternoon, and Oilers Central takes a look at the projected starting lineups.

The San Jose Sharks take on the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place today. Here are the projected/expected lineups sourced from NHL.com staff writers, independent correspondents, and others.

San Jose Sharks

Edmonton Oilers

Interestingly, Edmonton Oilers insider Tony Brar revealed that during yesterday's practice, defenseman Darnell Nurse was promoted to the top pairing alongside Evan Bouchard.

However, the NHL's official projections still list him on the second pairing.

It will be interesting to see where Darnell Nurse starts the game this afternoon. While the NHL still lists him on the second pairing, I fully expect Paul Coffey to rotate Darnell Nurse to the top pairing at some point during the game.
