With just minutes left in the 1st period, Boston Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov took the puck along the boards and came charging in to the Oilers net, unfortunately, Nikita Zadorov made no attempt to slow down, colliding hard with Stuart Skinner a massive hit.
Stuart Skinner appeared to be shaken up and stayed down for a few minutes. Edmonton Oilers trainer TD Forrs came out to provide the initial intake on Stuart Skinner, and ultimately advised him to go down the tunnel for medical assistance.
While Stuart Skinner was on the ice in clear agony, the Edmonton Oilers made no attempt to seek retribution, sparking some debate among fans.
However, Stan Bowman told Sportsnet in a new interview there was more that occurred than fans were able to see on the broadcast.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Bowman seems to be hinting at things that potentially occurred in between commercial breaks, or chirps on the ice. He's also right to point out that the Oilers' most meaningful response is dominating the Bruins and winning 4-0.
Bowman explains that the Edmonton Oilers let their play on the ice do the talking. While it would have been nice to see someone step up for Skinner, Stan Bowman's seems to be proud concerning the Oilers overall response to the situation.
While the Edmonton Oilers may be lacking toughness leading up to the postseason, GM Stan Bowman doesn't see it as a top priority.
