The Edmonton Oilers are still awaiting Evander Kane's highly anticipated return from injury, and GM Stan Bowman recently issued fans a teaser of what's to come.
Recently, Edmonton Oilers GM Stan Bowman sat down with Sportsnet's Mark Spector, and he revealed that a massive update is soon forthcoming.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Bowman's comments indicate a new interview with Sportsnet seem to indicate that Kane is at least not progressing ahead of schedule. Bowman did say that an update on Kane's condition would come very soon.
Stan Bowman opens up about Evander Kane
SB: «I don't have any new update right now. Evander has been doing his rehab, but as far as his timeline and all that, I don't have anything new to share.»
SN: You'll need to know soon, no? With the trade deadline two months away?
SB: «Very true. We'll need clarity on that for sure, when he's available and all that stuff. It can impact how much cap space we have. They do go hand in hand and we should be getting an update very soon.»
Evander Kane underwent surgery to fix multiple abdominal tears and a sports hernia.
Insiders have speculated so much about Evander Kane's return timeline that it's unclear when he will actually be back -- if not at all.
According to Stan Bowman, fans will soon know Evander Kane's fate for the rest of the season.
If Kane fails to return during the regular season, Bowman's NHL trade deadline plans will undoubtedly be altered.
