The Edmonton Oilers will look to bounce back in their rematch against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place tonight and is making only one lineup change.
Captain
Connor McDavid remains out for the game since he is serving the second game of his three-game suspension for his cross-check on
Conor Garland during their heated matchup last Saturday.
Head Coach Kris Knoblauch emphasized the need for the team to adjust by playing with more movement and urgency.
«Moving the puck faster, but also guys moving their feet a little bit more,» he said.
«I think it was a little stiff and stagnant and it just didn't create very much.»
Connor Brown had the same sentiment and pointed out that the team will need to play collectively without McDavid
«When you have a player of that calibre, it's not like he comes out of the lineup and somebody steps in for his place,» Brown said.
«For us tonight, it's just focusing on how we play as a group and make sure every guy brings their 'A' game.»
With Skinner struggling to find consistency with a sub-.900 save percentage in recent games, Pickard has an opportunity to solidify his role as a reliable backup for the Oilers.
The Oilers will need the help of their goaltender to keep Vancouver's offense in check and that is particularly after allowing only 14 shots against Washington but still coming up with a loss.
