Connor McDavid shots out Macklin Celebrini ahead of San Jose Sharks game
The Edmonton Oilers are taking on the San Jose Sharks tomorrow, and NHL fans around the world will be tuning in to watch two first overall picks go toe-to-toe.
There's one thing Macklin Celebrini and Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid certainly share in common.
Macklin Celebrini was selected 1st over all this year at the 2024 NHL entry draft in Las Vegas.
While some hockey enthusiasts weren't sure how the 18 year would adjust to such a big jump in competition, Celebrini has proved to everyone that he's fully capable of playing in the big leagues.

REPORTER: Mack Celebrini comes to town tomorrow. Have you had a chance to see him play? What do you think of him
MCDAVID: Yeah, it seems like he's off to a great start, playing really really well. The whole team seems to be playing well. They're finding different ways to win games, definitely a young exciting team.
Celebrini, who is the new franchise player of the San Jose Sharks met McDavid at the NHL combine, and was thankful for the words he was able to share with the three-time Hart Trophy winner -- given annually to the league's most valuable player.
"He was just asking about the trip, how it's going," Celebrini told Wyshynski. "It was awesome to talk to him, especially on a big game day, so I really appreciated it."

Celebrini has managed 22 points in just 23 regular season games - definitely impressive for an 18 year old.
