It's Connor Garland's turn to comment on the suspension served to Connor Mcdavid
The Vancouver Canucks are set to face the Edmonton Oilers tonight in a rematch that promises to be intense after all the tensions that happened in their last meeting.
Connor Garland is at the center of the drama and he spoke to the media yesterday by dismissing concerns over the treatment he might face from Oilers fans at Rogers Place.
When he was asked about the possible reaction from Edmonton fans after
Connor McDavid's three-game suspension for cross-checking him, Connor Garland didn't seem stressed or anything.
"I do not care. I just try to play each and every day and put forth a good effort. whatever happened, happened. I didn't hurt him or slew foot him. I guess they're upset about the hold. I didn't try to injure him. Whatever comes with that, comes with that."
Connor Garland admitted that he was holding McDavid late in the game and that this action drew criticism and probably provoked McDavid who gave a cross-check right after.
While Garland claimed he didn't do anything maliciously, his past behaviour has irritated Oilers fans and set the stage for a hostile reception for the next game.
Rogers Place is already known for being a tough arena for opposing teams and tomorrow's game will be no exception for Connor Garland and the Vancouver Canucks.
Meanwhile the Canucks will aim to silence the Edmonton crowd and extend their victory streak, so we can expect sparks as both teams look to make a statement in this game.
