Kapseri Kapanen has just notched his first goal on the Edmonton Oilers

At 8:12 in the first period captain Connor McDavid made a beautiful play around the net, dishing a nifty back-hand pass to Kasperi Kapanen for his first goal on the team.

The Edmonton Oilers made a significant roster move a few weeks ago by claiming Kasperi Kapanen on waivers, a former first round draft pick who will immediately entered the Oilers lineup.

Kapseri Kapanen came into Edmonton with quite a bit of baggage. Last season Kapseri Kapanen was arrested for aggrevated drunk driving, but he's making the most of his new opportunity in Edmonton.

A Finnish news source perfectly explained that Kapanen has lost his spark over his career, and could be in his last NHL stint if he doesn't impress in Edmonton.

Kapanen hasn't scored more than 13 goals since the 2019-20 season now, and last year, he was barely noticeable with 6 goals and 22 points in 73 games.

Kapseri Kapanen is currently playing his 4th game as an Oiler and has notched 3 points so far.

Kris Knoblauch rolled the dice, placing Kapanen on the 1st line beside captain Connor McDavid -- a gamble that has paid off so far.

The Edmonton Oilers are on the tail-end of a back-to-back after defeating Utah HC 4-3 in overtime.

Hopefully, the Oilers newcomer can stay posided while continuing his impressive offensive contributions to the team.
