Philadelphia Flyers announce star players returning to the lineup
As the dust settles on the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament, the Edmonton Oilers are set to get back to work tomorrow morning against the Philadelphia Flyers. That said, The Flyers have been plagued with injuries all season long, but they seem to have benefited from the 4 Nations Face-Off break as a handful of their star players are set to return to the lineup tomorrow.
Philadelphia Star players slot back into lineup
Tippett missed five games before the 4 Nations Face-Off break due to an upper-body injury. The 26-year-old from Peterborough, Ont., is third on the team in scoring with 30 points (14 goals and 16 assists) in 52 games.
Ristolainen was slated to play for Finland during the 4 Nations Face-Off but missed the tournament due to an upper-body injury. The 30-year-old has 15 points (two goals and 13 assists) in 54 games this season and is averaging 20:31 of ice time.
Poehling and Zamula were also out of the lineup with upper-body injuries.
While the majority of the Edmonton Oilers have enjoyed a much needed physical and mental reset,
Connor McDavid,
Mattias Ekholm, and
Viktor Arvidsson will undoubtedly be feeling the adverse effects on the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament.
With a refreshed Flyers roster fully rejuvenated, the Edmonton Oilers better come out the gate with their heads screwed on straight, or the pesky Flyers could pull-off an upset.
The Edmonton Oilers are looking to get back into the win column following a disappointing 5-4 loss at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche before the break, so it should be interesting to see how tomorrow's game shakes out.
Will the Oilers look disjointed after such a significant amount of time off? Time will tell.
