Despite their rocky start, the Edmonton Oilers are finally getting their season on track, thanks to the help of depth scoring, solid goaltending, and outstanding play on the blue-line.

According to TSN, The Oilers, fresh off a 2-1-0 week, are up three spots, from 10th to seventh. Edmonton, an elite defensive team for much of the season, ranking second in expected goals against, is finally getting some consistent goaltending.
The Oilers are averaging 2.00 goals against per game over their last five. Edmonton's goals saved above expected ranks 13th during that five-game stretch - a big improvement from where it ranked prior, third worst in the NHL.
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a strong 4-2 victory against the St. Louis Blues, and will be taking on a fordable Tampa Lightning team tomorrow.
With that being said, the Tampa Bay Lightning are no joke this year. Despite losing their former captain Steven Stamkos, they've been some elite hockey as of late.
Like the Edmonton Oilers, the Tampa Bay Lightning have struggled with inconsistencies, but they'll look to ride their newfound momentum following a 4-2 road victory against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
The Bolts currently sit 16th in the NHL, posting a 14-9-2 record, holding two games in hand over the Edmonton Oilers.
